Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) was forced to suspend services from Baiyappanahalli and MG Road stations on Saturday reportedly due to a technical glitch.
It was around 9:30 am that the glitch was detected at Indiranagar Metro station, a Times Of India (TOI) report said. The BMRCL had informed commuters earlier the day the it would take an hour's time to fix the glitches and restart the services even as hundreds of passengers got stranded and delayed on the purple line. Multiple reports said that the metro trains resumed to run normally between Whitefield and Challaghatta by 11:00 am.
Earlier this week, the BMRCL had announced that services between Peenya Industry and Nagasandra (Green Line) will stand paused from January 26 to 28 to facilitate electrical works. The disruption reportedly affected passengers travelling to Jalahalli, Dasarahalli and Nagasandra metro stations. Normalcy will be reportedly restored in the route by 5:00 am on January 29, Monday.
“Public are advised to buy QR tickets through WhatsApp or Namma Metro and other apps to save time for buying tickets as more crowds are expected at Peenya Industry and Goraguntepalya Metro stations,” Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited had said in a statement.
