The Election Commission of India (ECI) has declared electons to 56 Rajya Sabha seats from 15 states on February 27.
Uttar Pradesh will have elections to 10 Rajya Sabha seats followed by six in Maharashtra and Bihar, five in Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal, four in Gujarat and Karnataka, three in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and Rajasthan, and one each in Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Fifty of the Rajya Sabha MPs from 13 states will retire on April 2. The six lawmakers belonging to Odisha and Rajasthan will end their tenure on April 3.
The last date to file nominations is February 15 and the last date to withdraw candidature is February 20.
