Delivery is due in March

Parents of late Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu—popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala—are expecting a second child, sources confirmed to THE WEEK.

Reports had claimed that Moosewala’s mother Charan Kaur is pregnant after undergoing an IVF treatment, and the delivery is due in March.

Moosewala, who was shot dead by unidentified assailants while travelling in his jeep in Jawaharke village of Mansa district in May 2022 at the age of 28, was the only child of his parents.

The singer's untimely demise came just months after he unsuccessfully contested the Punjab Assembly elections from Mansa on a Congress ticket.

His mother, Charan Kaur, too, had filed an affidavit as a covering candidate and declared her age as 56. This would mean Kaur is around 58 now, while her husband Balkaur Singh is around 60.

Moosewala’s killing is being probed by a special investigation team of the Punjab Police, which has filed chargesheets against 32 accused, including gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria.

Considered one of the greatest Punjabi artists of his generation, Moosewala rose to fame with his tracks So High, Same Beef, The Last Ride, Just Listen and 295. Many of his songs were released posthumously and garnered millions of views.
