Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara said as per initial probe, the technique and materials used for the blast at Rameshwaram Cafe were similar to the one used in the Mangaluru blast. He added eight teams have been formed for the probe.

The Home Minister told ANI, “Eight teams have been formed and all are working in different directions and looking at different aspects. We have collected several CCTV footage. We are examining every angle including if there is any jealousy factor.”

Parmeshwara urged the Opposition to cooperate with the investigation and not to give it a political spin. He added the BJP should not issue negative statements. Though a connection is yet to be established, the technique and materials used for the blast were similar to that used in Mangaluru, the home minister said. “We do not know if there is any connection with the Mangaluru blast. They have used a similar material and the same system technically. NSG arrived here on Saturday. We will definitely find the person,” he said.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited the injured persons and the blast site on Saturday. Bengaluru City Crime Branch is probing the blast which occurred on Friday afternoon. Bengaluru Police have registered a case under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Substances Act.

The cafe owners on Saturday said they will reopen for business on March 8. Raghavendra Rao, co-founder and CEO of Rameshwaram Cafe said, "As we face this challenging situation, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the authorities for their support. We firmly believe that no force can dampen the spirit of our nation. We have decided to reopen our Brookfield outlet within a week of the unfortunate incident, which is on the auspicious day of Mahashivratri, the 8th of March (Friday).”
