PM Modi's 5-state tour begins today. What's on agenda?

The PM will attend 29 events across 12 states and UTs over the next 10 days

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a five-state tour from Monday, which will see him launch multiple development projects in Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Bengal and Bihar.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth more than Rs 110,600 crore over the next two days. 

"Over the next two days, I will be attending various programmes in Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Odisha and West Bengal. The development works which will be inaugurated cover a wide range of sectors and will transform several lives," Modi said in a post on X.

On Monday morning, the Prime Minister will fly to Telangana, where he will inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than Rs 56,000 crore in Adilabad.

He will lay the foundation stone for the state-owned power giant NTPC's various projects worth Rs 30,023 crore on Monday. According to NTPC, the projects signal a significant leap towards sustainable development and economic growth, an NTPC statement said.

These include Unit -2 (800 MW) of NTPC's Telangana Super Thermal Power Project (Stage-I) located in the Peddapalli district of Telangana which is aimed at enhancing the power supply in Telangana and other parts of the country.

By evening, around 3:30 pm, Modi will visit BHAVINI in Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu. 

His Telangana programme will continue on Tuesday too with Prime Minister Modi set to inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth Rs 6,800 crore in Sangareddy, Telangana.

He then will head to Odisha where he will launch multiple development projects worth over Rs 19,600 crore at Chandikhole, Jajpur in Odisha.

Modi's next schedule is in Kolkata on Wednesday where he will lay the foundation stone of multiple connectivity projects worth Rs 15,400 crore in Kolkata.  Thereafter, the prime minister will visit Bettiah in Bihar at around 3:30 pm, where he will inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth around Rs 12,800 crore. 

In Kolkata, Modi will inaugurate Kolkata Metro's Howrah Maidan-Esplanade Metro section, Kavi Subhash-Hemanta Mukhopadhyay Metro section, Taratala-Majerhat Metro section (part of Joka-Esplanade line); Pune Metro from Ruby Hall Clinic to Ramwadi stretch; Kochi Metro Rail Phase I Extension project (Phase IB) from SN Junction Metro station to Tripunithura Metro station; Agra Metro's stretch from Taj East Gate to Mankameshwar; and Duhai-Modinagar (North) section of Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor.

Ahead of the elections, the Prime Minister will travel across 29 programmes spread across 12 states and union territories over the next 10 days ahead of the likely announcement of the Lok Sabha polls.

Besides these 5 states, officials will also be visiting Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi.

The prime minister will be in Jammu and Kashmir on March 7 and attend a media event in Delhi in the evening. On March 8, he will participate in the first-ever National Creator's Award in Delhi and then leave for Assam in the evening.

Modi will inaugurate the Sela tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh's West Kameng and then unveil multiple development projects in Itanagar. Later, he will unveil a statue of legendary Ahom army commander Lachit Borphukan in Jorhat, Assam.

Thereafter, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of multiple development projects in Jorhat, the officials said. He will also visit West Bengal and launch development projects in Siliguri and address a public meeting there.

On March 10, Modi will be in Uttar Pradesh and will dedicate to the nation various projects in Azamgarh, they said.

He will attend an event in Delhi the next day related to 'Namo Drone Didi' and 'Lakhpati Didi' programmes. Then, he will inaugurate the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway. In the evening, he will attend a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) programme.

On March 12, he will visit Sabarmati in Gujarat and Pokhran in Rajasthan and then lay the foundation stones of three important semiconductor projects in Gujarat and Assam via video conferencing on March 13.
