A day after announcing his resignation from the Delhi cabinet and the Aam Aadmi Party, Raaj Kumar Anand on Thursday ruled out the allegations that he took the decision under pressure.

The Patel Nagar MLA told PTI Videos that he decided to resign as he was not able to tolerate the “injustice” in the AAP.

Soon after Anand announced his decision, the party had alleged that it vindicates its stand that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate was aimed at finishing the party, and accused the BJP of using the central agencies to "break our ministers and MLAs".

Anand, however, denied the allegation and said: "I never received any notice from the ED”.

He claimed that the ED officials had raided his residence in November last year to trace the money trail in the "liquor scam", but nothing was found and the matter was closed.

Anand, who held the portfolios of social welfare and SCs and STs among other portfolios in the Delhi government, alleged that Dalit leaders are not given important posts either in the AAP or in government agencies, such as the agricultural produce marketing committees. "I was not able to tolerate this injustice,” he said.

Asked about his future plans, the MLA said: "Nobody knows what lies in the future, but politics is a game of possibilities."

Meanwhile, the PTI quoted officials as saying that Anand is still "technically" a minister as there is no possibility in the near future that his resignation letter will reach the chief minister for his approval.

Once the chief minister has approved the letter, it would be sent to the lieutenant governor for further approval.
