Swati Maliwal MP has alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's personal aide Bibhav Kumar attacked her when she was sitting in the drawing room of Kejriwal's residence.
In the FIR registered on the complaint of Maliwal by the Delhi Police, she alleged that she was "slapped, hit in the stomach and kicked" by Kumar. Maliwal claimed she ran out of the CM's residence and called the police immediately after the incident. Kejriwal was present at his residence when the incident took place, she added.
Maliwal broke down several times while giving the statement and sought strict action against Kumar, reported ANI.
The FIR was registered after Maliwal's statement was recorded by a two-member team, led by Additional Commissioner of Police P S Kushwaha. It was at the Rajya Sabha member's residence in Central Delhi for nearly four and a half hours since around 1.50 pm.
The FIR has been registered under sections 354, 506, 509, and 323 of the IPC, among other sections, for offences including assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty, criminal intimidation, word gesture or acts of intent to insult and assault.
Maliwal was later brought to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for a medical check-up late on Thursday.

Meanwhile, despite her plea to the BJP to not politicise the issue, the saffron party continued to target Arvind Kejriwal on the issue. The Chief Minister had refused to comment on issue during a press conference in Lucknow on Thursday.
Kejriwal was with Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh when he was asked about the issue. While Kejriwal avoided the question, Singh said his party had already made its stand clear on the issue.
Yadav also stepped in as he took the microphone and said, "There are more important things than that". He then unfolded a piece of paper and said, "BJP people are not with anyone, it is a 'gang' that lodges false cases".
The BJP on Thursday too slammed Kejriwal, claiming he was the main "criminal" in the complaint filed by Maliwal. "His (Kejriwal) silence speaks a lot. Out of jail, he is more a 'goonda' than a chief minister," BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia told reporters, noting that Kumar was seen with the chief minister in Lucknow.
