Amid fresh corntroversy over audio clip of former Congress MP asking BJP leader to leak the sex abuse videos of Prajwal Revanna, former Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy urged his nephew to return to India and face the SIT probe.
"I would appeal to him (Prajwal Revanna) to come back to Karnataka and face this investigation... If you have not done anything then why are you afraid, why did you run away? You have to face this situation," the JD(S) leader said, adding that the family's dignity is at stake.
Prajwal, who is the grandson of JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, left for Germany on April 27.
Kumaraswamy's remarks came after an audio clip of a purported conversation between former Congress MP L.R. Shivaramegowda and BJP leader G. Devarajegowda went viral. He had also alleged that 40 phones belonging to his family members are being tapped.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Home Minister G. Parameshwara have rejected the allegations as baseless.
On Saturday, Shivakumar rejected Devarajegowda's allegation that he offered him Rs 100 crore to malign the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kumaraswamy in the sex video case.
"Let him file a complaint to Lokayukta or anyone. He has some mental issues. It’s all baseless and I don’t want to talk about it. I don’t want to talk about people who are mentally ill. The party will take a decision," the deputy CM said.
