On being refused to serve alcohol, a man shot dead the DJ of the bar late at night on Sunday in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The CCTV footage captured the shooter, in his shorts, walking into the 'Xtreme Bar' with a rifle in his hand.

The shooter's face was covered with his t-shirt in the CCTV footage.

According to the police, the accused and four others arrived at the bar around 1 am when the bar had closed. The staff at the bar had asked them to leave and refused to serve them alcohol, said the police.

Reportedly, a group of 4-5 men got into an argument with DJ Sandeep and bar staff over playing music as well. Initially, the situation was resolved and the group left. Later, they returned after the bar closed and shot the DJ.

The shooter pointed the rifle right at the DJ before the shot was fired.

The accused has been identified as Abhishek Singh. The Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police told PTI that the accused had been nabbed from the Alipur police station area in Gaya.

"On being refused, a heated argument ensued between them and the bar staff. During the argument, one of them brought in a rifle and shot at the DJ in his chest from point-blank range," said Chandan Sinha, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ranchi.

The accused had fled after the incident. Though the injured DJ was taken to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), he could not be saved.

Ranchi Deputy Superintendent of Police and the local police station in charge visited the crime spot this morning.

The police are examining the CCTV footage further to identify accomplices as well. The bar employees are also being questioned.
