Aam Aadmi Party leader and Punjab Minister Balkar Singh said he has “no knowledge” about the alleged obscene video surfaced on social media against him. The Punjab unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has allegedly accused the minister of flashing his private parts during a video call with a young woman who approached the former for a job.

Responding to presspersons, Balkar Singh said, “I have no comments and not in my knowledge,” ANI reported. The allegations were brought to light by BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, who accused Balkar Singh of engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct. Bagga alleged the minister was involved in sexual activity during a video call with a 21-year-old woman who approached the minister seeking job opportunities.

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women, taking cognisance of the video urged Punjab police to take stern action on the issue. NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma vehemently condemned the purported behaviour and directed Punjab police to file a comprehensive report within three days.

“The National Commission for Women is gravely disturbed by a Twitter post allegations against Punjab MLA Mr. Balkar Singh. The reported acts, if substantiated, constitute serious violations under IPC sections 354 and 354B, directly affronting a woman's dignity,” NCW tweeted. It added, “@sharmarekha vehemently condemn such behaviour and call for urgent intervention from@DGPPunjabPolice to ensure a prompt and impartial investigation. A comprehensive report to be submitted in three days.”
