A Chennai to Mumbai IndiGo flight is being inspected as per protocol after it received a bomb threat, the civil aviation major said on Saturday morning.
All 172 passengers of IndiGo flight 6E 5314 were safely disembarked after landing at the Mumbai airport. Soon, it was isolated for security procedures, the statement said.
It was the pilot of the aircraft that alerted the Mumbai ATC of the bomb threat.
"Upon landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocol and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay as per security agency guidelines. All passengers have safely disembarked the aircraft. The aircraft is currently undergoing inspection. Post completion of all security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area," news agency ANI quoted the IndiGo release as saying.
The flight landed at Mumbai airport around 8.45 am and the passengers were taken to safety using the step ladder, a source reportedly told news agency PTI.
This is the second such incident involving an IndiGo flight in the past week. On May 28, an IndiGo Varanasi flight from Delhi had received an alleged bomb threat.
