Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, former Indian cricketer and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh, UP Congress chief and candidate from Varanasi seat Ajay Rai who is contesting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief J.P. Nadda, AAP MP Raghav Chadha, BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty, Amardeep Ranaut, father of BJP candidate from Mandi, Kangana Ranaut, were among the early voters on Saturday.

Nadda was the first voter in his booth in Bilaspur of Himachal Pradesh. He urged people to vote and contribute towards making India a capable, self-reliant, and developed nation.

After casting his vote, Adityanath called the ongoing elections "the festival of democracy" and expressed confidence that the BJP will form government after June 4 when the results are out.

"The voters have shown great enthusiasm, I want to thank all of them who have come out to cast their votes. Looking at the support we are receiving across the country, we can say that when the results come on June 4th, the party that has worked for the youth and the country will be successful...We have faith that on June 4th, the Modi government will be formed again," news agency ANI quoted him as saying.

I am a BJP cadre, I have done my duty, said Mithun Chakraborty after casting his vote in Kolkata.

Harbhajan Singh urged people to come in large numbers to vote. "I want maximum polling in Jalandhar," he said. "It is our duty and we should bring the government that we want, a government that can work for the people. I am not a VIP at all, the VIP culture should end. If one can stand in a queue for a langar, then one can stand here too."

Amardeep Ranaut claimed that everyone is coming with great enthusiasm and all the people are going to press the Lotus button.

Every vote will decide the direction and condition of the country, said Chadha after casting his vote.

BJP MP and candidate from Gorakhpur, Ravi Kishan said: "I have cast my vote for Viksit Bharat, Ram Rajya and to make India a 'vishwa guru.'"
