Lok Sabha Polls 2024 Results Live: Voting for both the Lok Sabha Elections and State Legislative Assembly Elections was held simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh on May 13, 2024. Regional parties take centre stage in the state while the BJP and Congress almost always fall far behind. Thus, the commanders of the rivalling sides in the older Telugu state, are without doubt, Chandrababu Naidu of the TDP and incumbent chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of the YSRCP.
THE WEEK LIVE UPDATES | Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 LIVE: Modi or INDIA bloc?
Former chief minister Naidu is fighting the polls in alliance with the BJP and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena. Meanwhile, the Congress in Andhra Pradesh is led by CM Jagan Reddy’s younger sister YS Sharmila.

Following the thumping victory in 2019, Jagan's YSRCP was able to send 22 MPs to the Lower House of the Parliament while the Telugu Desam Party won the remaining three. With the help of the two alliance partners, Naidu is looking to breach Jagan's popularity built on a string of welfare schemes implemented by his government in the past five years. The TDP had benefitted from its poll pact with the saffron party twice in history (1999 and 2014). It was shortly before the 2019 general elections that Naidu walked out of the NDA and decided to go alone in Andhra Pradesh.
Another vital issue that may affect the poll outcomes in the southern state is the "three capital project." Upon entering office, Jagan Mohan Reddy ditched Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh in favour of the project -- implying Amaravati as the legislative, Visakhapatnam as the executive and Amaravati as the judicial capital of the state. Amaravati, that was presented with much hype as a city for the future, was largely neglected by the YSRCP regime, which has not gone down well with the residents.
What did Exit Polls say about Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha results:
According to the survey by Axis My India, the TDP-led NDA in Andhra is likely to win 21-23 of 25 Lok Sabha seats for the NDA. Meanwhile, the News18 exit poll claimed that the BJP may win between 4 and 6 seats with the NDA likely to secure 19 to 22 seats. The YSRCP and others are likely to win between 5 and 8 Lok Sabha seats, it said.
