UPDATE: Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 LIVE: Modi or INDIA bloc? Vote counting begins at 8 am

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday repeated his claims regarding EVM tampering, stating that if the BJP won more than 300, then "it is not people's vote but the Electronic Voting Machine(EVM)".

When asked how the INDIA bloc would fare when the results were out, Singh said the opposition bloc would get 295 seats and form the next government. "If people have voted, then they will not get a majority and the figure given by Congress of 295 seats (for INDIA alliance) is correct. If it is ‘300 paar’, it is not the vote of people but of EVM," he said.

Singh, a former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, is contesting Lok Sabha polls from Rajgarh in the state.

Most Exit polls predict NDA would cross 360 seats, close to Modi's ambitious target of "400 paar". As for the INDIA bloc, the exit polls predict over 180 marks, one-third of the total number of seats.

Shashi Tharoor too claimed that the Opposition alliance would win 295 seats while calling the exit poll predictions laughable. Adding that he is convinced that the INDIA bloc would get over 295 seats, Tharoor said: "We are seeing it with scepticism and disbelief because we have also been campaigning throughout the country. We also have a sense of what the pulse of the people is and we don’t believe it is reflected accurately in these polls. Our Congress president, after meeting all the INDIA bloc members, has said that he is convinced that we are getting about 295 for the alliance. I stick to that number," Tharoor told reporters on Monday.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaih termed exit polls as Prime Minister Narendra Modi's media poll, asserting that the party will win 15-20 Lok Sabha seats out of 28 in the state.

Exit polls predict BJP-JD(S) alliance's sweep in Karnataka, and none of them gave the ruling Congress a double-digit figure. "Already Rahul Gandhi has reacted to exit polls, he has called it a Narendra Modi's media survey. In Karnataka we will win more seats, we will win 15-20 seats," Siddaramaiah told reporters here. Mallikarjun Kharge (Congress President) has said that across the country INDIA bloc will win 295 seats. I support it," he added.
