The BJP-JD(U) alliance in Bihar seems to have worked as the counting progresses in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U) candidates were leading in 34 out of the 40 Lok Sabha seats. With JD(U) gaining more seats, all are eyes on Nitish Kumar. Will he again jump the ship? Reportedly, INDIA bloc leaders are in touch with Nitish Kumar.
The BJP, which had kept for itself the lion's share of 17 seats, was leading in 13 of these, with Union ministers R.K. Singh and Nityanand Rai among the trailing candidates.
Chirag Paswan of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is leading in the respective seats. Paswan was leading RJD's Shiv Chandra Ram by a margin of 1,44,768 votes in Bihar's Hjipur constituency, as of 4: 20 pm by the ECI.
Former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who heads the Hindustani Awam Morcha, won the Gaya seat with a margin of 1,01,812 votes.

Among the INDI alliance, the RJD, which has been the single largest party in the assembly showcased a lacking performance. RJD leader Lalu Yadav’s daughter Misha Bharti is leading with 52,304 votes against Ram Kripal Yadav of BJP from the Patliputra seat. However, Bharti's younger sister Rohini Acharya was trailing behind BJP veteran Rajiv Pratap Rudy in Saran by a slender margin of about 15,000 votes.
In Bihar's Purnia seat, BJP's Santosh Kumar leads with 9,494 seats ahead of independent candidate Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav.
