The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led alliance in Tamil Nadu is leading in 37 of 39 seats in Tamil Nadu. Congress is leading in the lone Puducherry constituency.
As per Election Commission, at 11am, the DMK is leading in 21 seats, Congress in eight seats, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi in two seats, both Communist parties, CPI and CPI(M) in two seats each and BJP ally Pattali Makkal Katchi in Dharmapuri. AIADMK ally Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK)is leading in Virudhunagar, the only seat where the state opposition alliance is leading.
DMDK candidate and late leader Vijayakanth’s son Vijayaprabhakaran. V is leading by 2,149 votes against nearest rival, Congress’s B. Manickam Tagore. BJP candidate and actor Radhikaa. R is a far third and trailing by 28,315 votes.
Though AIADMK was leading in the Namakkal constituency during initial rounds, DMK candidate Matheswaran V.S. is leading now by 2,767 votes.
BJP leader K. Annamalai is trailing by 3,335 votes to DMK candidate Ganapathy Rajkumar. P in the Coimbatore constituency.
In Puducherry, Congress candidate is leading Ve. Vaithilingam and is leading by 30,034 votes.
