The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) woman constable, who allegedly slapped actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut, got arrested on Friday. The incident occurred at Chandigarh airport on Thursday when the newly elected MP was leaving for Delhi.
A video of the incident went viral in social media platforms, in which Kulwinder, the woman constable, said "She had claimed that women are sitting there at the protest for Rs 100...My mother was also at the protest when she made the statement."
After landing in Delhi, Ranaut in a video said that he was safe and perfectly fine. She confirmed that the CISF lady had slapped her and abused her over the farmers' protest. "As soon as I came out after the security check, the lady in the second cabin, a CISF security staff came from the side, hit me in the face and started abusing me. When I asked her why she did so, she said that she supports farmers' protests. I am safe but I am concerned about the terrorism and extremism that is increasing in Punjab," said Ranaut.
Kaur was suspended immediately after the incident came to light and an inquiry was launched into the incident.
Kaur wrote on X "I don't care about the job. Thousands of such jobs are sacrificed for the honour of a mother." she said.
The incident happened after the Bollywood actor was elected to Lok Sabha from the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh, where she won by over 74,000 votes defeating the Congress rival Vikramaditya.
