Anti-infiltration operation: Armed forces gun down terrorist in Uri, recover body

Army launched the operation on Saturday and has reportedly gunned down 2 terrorists

Security forces on Sunday recovered the body of a terrorist who was killed in an anti-infiltration operation in the Uri sector along the Line of Control. The operation is continuing, Army said.

"One terrorist has been killed in the ongoing anti-infiltration operation that was launched on 22 Jun in the Uri Sector; Operations are continuing," Srinagar-based Chinar Corps said in a post on X.

The Army launched an anti-infiltration operation based on intelligence inputs in the Gohallan area of the Uri sector on Saturday. Armed forces established contact with the infiltrators on Saturday and they reportedly gunned down two terrorists. “Based on specific intelligence inputs, an anti-infiltration Operation was launched in the Uri Sector. Contact was established with infiltrating terrorists and Operations are in progress,” the Army had said.

Sources told PTI that two terrorists were believed to have been killed. However, only body of one terrorist has been recovered so far, it reported.
