The opposition is all set to raise the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam in parliament on Friday even as protests continue across the country.

The decision came at a meeting of the INDIA bloc leaders held at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence on Thursday.

"We will give notices (in Parliament) on the NEET issue tomorrow," DMK MP Tiruchi Siva told news agency ANI.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said several issues were discussed at today’s meeting, and all of them would be raised in parliament. He said the INDIA bloc leaders have also decided to participate in the debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s address from Monday.

The opposition coalition leaders have maintained that if the NEET issue is not taken up for discussion on Friday, they would stage a protest inside the house.

"The opposition will be in attacking mode,” Jairam Ramesh was quoted as saying by NDTV. "The mandate of the Lok Sabha polls is a personal, political and moral defeat of the prime minister. The opposition will remind him of this every day.”

Meanwhile, the protests over the alleged exam irregularities mounted on Thursday with scores of members of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Congress, barging into the National Testing Agency office in Delhi.

The protesters, led by NSUI national president Varun Choudhary, locked the office doors and raised slogans of ‘shut down NTA’.

"Apparently, the NTA locked the door from inside as students were protesting. Subsequently, the protesters also locked the door from outside with an iron chain and lock," a police officer told PTI.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET-UG was conducted by the NTA on May 5 with around 24 lakh candidates taking part in it. The results were announced on June 4, but they were followed by allegations of question paper leaks in states such as Bihar, besides other irregularities.

The Central Bureau of Investigation, which is probing the case, arrested two persons from Patna on Thursday. According to officials, Manish Kumar and Ashutosh Kumar allegedly provided safe premises to the aspirants before the examination where they were given leaked papers and answer keys.

The CBI has registered six FIRs in the NEET paper leak case.
