Heavy rains lashed Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region) on Friday morning, bringing relief from the sweltering heat but throwing life off track. The incessant rainfall and thunderstorms left roads waterlogged, affecting vehicular movement in many parts of the country.
Several parts of the city, including ITO, Saket metro station area, Minto Road, Connaught Place, and Noida Sector 62, were inundated, as videos showed commuters wading through water to their destinations.

Many complained about the miserable state of the roads. According to Anjali, a student, the main roads were inundated. "I am on my way to the coaching centre and we are stuck. This is the condition after the first. If this is how the main roads look, what would the condition in bylanes be?," she told ANI.
The condition also saw the opposition BJP protesting against the alleged apathy of the AAP government. As a mark of protest, BJP councillor Ravinder Singh Negi rowed an inflatable boat through the severely waterlogged NH9 area. "All PWD drains are overflowing. They didn't get it cleaned ahead of monsoon. This has led to waterlogging. Vinod Nagar has submerged," Negi told reporters.
