Heavy rains lashed several areas in Gujarat on Sunday, hampering normal life in cities including Ahmedabad and Surat due to water-logging.The heavy rains affected traffic movement in Surat, Bhuj, Vapi, Bharuch and Ahmedabad due to inundation in low-lying areas. Between 6 am and 4 pm, Ahmedabad city received 62 mm of rainfall, which led to waterlogging in several areas. Several roads and underpasses became inaccessible after being flooded, news agency PTI said quoting officials.

The wet spell will continue in the next four days in Gujarat, the Met department has said. Isolated places in south and central Gujarat and Saurashtra region are expected to receive heavy rains over the next two days, IMD stated in a release. 

Meanwhile, news agencies ANI and PTI released multiple footage that showed the intensity of the rainfall that cities across Gujarat are experiencing. 1. A video from Ahmedabad's Shela area showed a caved-in road. ANI claimed that the road collapse was triggered by the heavy rains that the city has been witnessing.

2. Another video showed how normal life was affected in Ahmedabad's Naranpura due to the rain as it showed city dwellers struggling to walk through knee-deep water even on main roads. Two-wheelers also struggled to move freely through these roads, the video showed.

3. Streets were brimming with water, forcing people to wade through waist-high water. Gates were mostly submerged and vehicles remained half-submerged, visuals showed.

4. Ahmedabad city received 62 mm of rainfall, which led to waterlogging in several areas. Several roads and underpasses became inaccessible after being flooded, news agency PTI said quoting officials.

5. The situation was no different in Amreli, where people were forced to wade through stagnated water on the streets.
