A shocking video in which a man was seen brutally assaulting a man and woman in full public view in West Bengal surfaced online on Sunday. In the video, the two victims were encircled by a crowd while being thrashed brutally by a man. He used what looked to be a bunch of rattan stems to repeatedly attack the two until they lost consciousness. The young woman was seen screaming for help as the man violently thrashed her before kicking and dragging her by the hair, the video showed.
Towards the end of the clip, an onlooker was seen trying to pacify the assaulter as he went to kick and pull the hair of the unconscious woman. The other victim, a man too lost his strength to resist and was helped to sit up on the road by a man following the brutal attack, the video showed. Apart from a few, the duo received no help from the crowd despite the inhumane assault they faced.
The video was shared on X by CPIM state secretary Mohammed Salim. He named the man behind the shocking crime to be one Tajemul aka JCB -- a "TMC goon". Salim went on to add that the person who shot the video from Chopra of Uttar Dinajpur has been ousted from his residence as a consequence.

The communist leader also alleged that Tajemul was involved in the murder of a CPM cadre. THE WEEK, however, couldn't independently verify his claims.
"JCB aka Tajemul who is mercilessly attacking the lady is also the main accused in the murder of Com. Mansur Alam. @CPIM_WESTBENGAL Murderers remain at large, travesty of justice continues in Bengal. Courtesy: @MamataOfficial & @abhishekaitc Continuation of @SuvenduWB model," he wrote.
