Ahead of Hyderabad meet, Chandrababu Naidu and Revanth Reddy reach Delhi

The chief ministers of Telugu states will meet on July 6 in the heart of Hyderabad

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy are in the national capital. Naidu reportedly met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on Thursday.

As per reports, the Andhra Pradesh CM met with the prime minister at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence. He also met Union Minister Piyush Goyal along with Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu and Union Minister Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar.

Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. 

The meeting of chief ministers of the Telugu states in New Delhi comes as they are set to meet on July 6 in Hyderabad. In a letter to Reddy, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu wrote, “There have been multiple discussions concerning issues arising from the Reorganization Act, which hold significant implications for the welfare and advancement of our states. It is imperative that we address these issues amicably with utmost diligence and resolve,” and proposed a meeting at Telangana CM’s residence in Hyderabad on Saturday. Revanth Reddy welcomed the meeting, however, suggested that instead of his residence, meeting could be held at Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule Praja Bhavan. 

The chief ministers’ meeting raises expectations for resolving issues of distribution of government assets, clearing debts, and also river water allocations between the two states which are still pending.
