"The Things I Do For Love..."
The story didn't end well for Jamie Lannister after that. By the looks of it, a Pune woman employed in Bengaluru is also walking the same path as the Lannister Lord.
The protagonist is one Indra Rajwar, 29, who decided to make a hoax call to the airport helpline to stop her boyfriend from travelling. According to reports, Rajwar told the hotline staff at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) that one Mir Raza Mehdi en route to Mumbai was carrying explosives with him. Mehdi was the woman's boyfriend and a police probe later revealed that she made the fake call while at the airport -- at a stone's throw from the unsuspecting man.
Mehdi and Indra Rajwar were both scheduled to fly to Mumbai from Bengaluru on June 25, Thursday, on separate flights. The duo were even captured chatting by the airport's CCTV at the departure longue. However, minutes later, she stepped away to make the phone call in a last-minute attempt to stop his lover from flying.
According to reports, Mehdi was isolated and thoroughly frisked by the airport security personnel as a result of the bomb threat call. His bags were also checked but the sleuths found that he was clean.
The Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) held a meeting and decided to file a complaint with the police on July 3, Wednesday, Indian Express said in a report. It was only a matter of time before Rajwar was busted.
During interrogation at the KIA police station, Indra Rajwar confessed to having made the call to stop Mir Raza Mehdi from taking the flight. The couple had some differences and she wanted him to cancel the trip, she reportedly told the cops.
She was booked under Section 505(1)(B) (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as the incident happened before the BNS was enforced.
