West Bengal: Shocking video of medieval torture of woman in Kamarhati surfaces

A horrific video of an assault on a woman claiming to be from West Bengal is doing rounds on social media. The shocking clip, extremely graphic to share, showed a woman being dragged by her hands and legs by a group of men inside an office space. As she was held suspended above the ground, two men brutally beat her continuously with what looked like giant logs of wood, the video showed.

The helpless woman wailed due to pain but her brute captors kept beating her mercilessly, the video showed. A user, who shared the video on Monday night claimed that the woman was a victim of a kangaroo court held by an associate of a Trinamool Congress MLA. He identified the spot of the unspeakable violence as Taltala Club in Kamarhati of West Bengal's  North 24 Parganas district.

"Horrific video coming from Taltala club, Ariadaha, Kamarhati municipality, Kamarhati VS! Jayanta singh ,Close associate of TMC MLA Madan Mitra is thrashing  a girl with his gang in his kangaroo court! He is known for taking 'SUPARI' in area," the Twitter user jotted.

In another tweet, the man also shared pictures of Jayanta Singh with TMC MLA and Ex-Minister Madan Mitra and Kamarhati municipality TMC councillor Meghna Mitra.

THE WEEK, however, couldn't independently verify the claims.

The shocking video surfaced only a few days after a similar clip in which a man was seen brutally assaulting a couple in full public view in Chopra of Uttar Dinajpur. The primary accused in that incident was also identified to be a local goon with ties with Mamata Banerjee's TMC.
