After sparking controversy for allegedly installing a red beach light on her Audi car and got 'Maharashtra Government' written on it without permission, trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar's sedan was seized by Pune police on Sunday morning.

This comes after the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) had issued a notice to a city-based private company, which is the registered owner of the Audi car used by Khedkar. It was registered at the Pune RTO on June 27, 2012.

The RTO has issued 21 challans amounting to total charges of Rs 27,000 against the Audi in the past over traffic violations. Officials said the fine has been paid

Khedkar recently sparked outrage over her demands, including a separate cabin and staff during her posting in Pune. She was transferred from Pune to Washim district following the controversy.

A single-member committee was formed by the Union government last week "to verify the candidature" of Khedkar, who allegedly misused the disability and OBC quota to secure IAS. The 34-year-old is 2023-batch IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre.

If found guilty, Khedkar could be terminated from service.
