Bihar: INDIA bloc ally Vikassheel Insaan Party chief Mukesh Sahani's father Jitan Sahani brutally murdered

Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani's father Jitan Sahani was brutally murdered with a sharp weapon in his ancestral home in Darbhanga district of Bihar.

Vikassheel Insaan Party is an ally of the RJD and the Congress in the INDIA bloc. Mukesh Sahani was a former fisheries minister in the Bihar government.

Jitan Sahani's body, with several stab injuries and cut marks on his chest and stomach, was found inside his room at his house on Tuesday morning.

Darbhanga Superintendent of Police Jagunath Reddy confirmed the incident. A team of senior officers have reached the spot and are investigating the matter.

According to media reports, preliminary investigation suggests that someone entered his home with the intention of stealing and killed Jitan Sahani when he attempted to resist.

The murder of Jitan Sahani has caused panic among residents in the area.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, in a video message, assured speedy justice in the case.

Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi took to social media to condemn the incident. He said he was shocked by the incident and demanded immediate action from the government to arrest the accused. 

The probable causes of the murder seem to be personal enmity or other major reasons, said Bihar minister Nitin Nabin and added that the SIT was formed with immediate effect and the matter is being investigated.
