The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) kickstarted its campaign for the Haryana assembly elections on Saturday with the announcement of party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘five guarantees’ for the state.

Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal made the announcement of ‘Kejriwal Ki 5 Guarantees’ at a public meeting at Panchkula. She was accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, AAP national general secretary (organisation) Sandeep Pathak, and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh.

The AAP’s guarantees for Haryana include free and 24-hour electricity, free healthcare and free education. The party also promised Rs 1,000 per month for all mothers and sisters, as well as employment for every youth.

"Like in Delhi and Punjab, all old domestic pending bills will be waived. Power cuts will be stopped, and arrangements will be made for 24-hour electricity like in Delhi and Punjab," the party said on its promise of uninterrupted electricity.

The party said Mohalla clinics will be set up in every village of Haryana, the way its government did in Delhi and Punjab. All government hospitals will be revamped, and new hospitals will be built, it added.

“Every resident of Haryana will receive free treatment, whether the illness is minor or major. All tests, medicines, surgeries, and treatments will be free. This will save people a lot of money and provide significant relief from inflation”.

The party also promised to eradicate the “education mafia” if it comes to power in the state.

“Government schools will be made so good that people will want to enroll their children in government schools instead of private ones. The hooliganism of private schools will also be stopped, and unjustified fee hikes by private schools will be curbed," it said.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunita launched a scathing attack on the BJP, saying the saffron party should not be allowed to win a single seat in Haryana.

Sunita also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of framing false cases against her husband. “Will you tolerate this in silence? Your kejriwal is a lion. He won't sit quietly in front of Modi ji," she said.
