The National Testing Agency has declared the NEET-UG 2024 results in city-wise and centre-wise format as directed by the Supreme Court. The apex court will be hearing the NEET paper leak case next on Monday.

The NEET-UG results were initially announced on June 5 and the Supreme Court, hearing the paper leak case on Thursday directed it to release the results in city and centre-wise format to understand the impact of the paper leak. It directed the agency to release the results masking the identity of candidates.

The exam was conducted on May 5 at 4,750 centres in 571 cities, including 14 cities abroad, for more than 24 lakh candidates.

A bench led by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Justices J.B. Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, hearing pleas demanding a retest on Thursday probed the extent of the NEET paper leak and said it would have to order a retest if tainted can’t be segregated from the list.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) is conducted by the NTA for admissions to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country. Allegations of irregularities, including paper leaks, have led to protests in several cities and sparring between rival political parties.

A total of 67 students had scored a perfect 720, unprecedented in the NTA's history, with six from a Haryana centre figuring in the list, raising suspicions about irregularities in the examination. It has been alleged that grace marks contributed to the 67 students sharing the top rank.
