Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district witnessed public outrage after a youth was attacked and killed at a stone's throw from Bansdih police station on Saturday morning. 

According to local media reports, the violent incident took place around 10:00 am on Saturday when 24-year-old Rahul Pandey was attacked and left profusely bleeding by an armed group. A friend of the victim, who suffered head injuries while trying to save Rahul, reportedly alleged that he had pleaded with the police to help his friend or he would be killed.

UP-based news outlets reported that Rahul collapsed on the scene as he was attacked with sharp-edged weapons by the gang who later fled for the town area. He was profusely bleeding while being shifted to the nearby Community Health Center in a police vehicle. The doctors at the facility ruled his condition to be critical and wanted him to be shifted to the Balli district hospital. According to reports, doctors at the district facility declared him dead shortly after arrival.

The relatives of the deceased created a ruckus in the district hospital. Police force has also been deployed outside the hospital as a precautionary measure. The postmortem of the victim will take place at the same facility.

Meanwhile, the police also claimed that the miscreants responsible for the murder were being identified. They suspect a dispute between two groups led to the crime.
