Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has demanded immediate closure of entertainment show Big Boss 3.

A delegation led by Shiv Sena leader and former legislator Dr Manisha Kayande met Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar on Monday. The delegation, comprising women leaders and activists of Shiv Sena urged Phansalkar to close down the reality TV show Big Boss 3 for the allegedly vulgar content being aired through the show. They also asked the police commissioner to take action against the producers of the show.

Dr Kayande said that an episode aired on July 18 had very vulgar acts performed by actors in the show. Kayande said actors Arman Malik and Kritika Malik have violated all the norms of family and social values. “Big Boss 3 has crossed all limits. Children are watching this show across homes. Their impressionable minds are being affected by statements made by Arman Malik, hence this show should be immediately closed down and action should be taken against the producers of the show,” they demanded.

Kayande also said that she was of the firm opinion that OTT should be brought under the purview of the Censor Board and she is planning to meet the union minister for information and broadcasting to raise her demand.
