A horrific incident of public assault of a woman has surfaced from Delhi's Kirari area. A viral video on the internet showed a young woman falling off from a height of several metres after being slapped across the face by a man. The young woman wailed from the ground following the fall before being helped back to her feet by an onlooker, the video showed.
According to Delhi media, the viral video was shot on July 25, Thursday from the Kirari area. The accused, who is at large, is reportedly a builder. The victim was involved in a property deal with the man. As their relationship soared, the girl confronted the man on Thursday which led to a verbal spat between the two.
As the conversation escalated into a heated argument between the two parties, the man physically assaulted her -- slapping her across her face. They were standing on the top of what seems to be an erected platform or roof and the young woman fell to the ground after being hit. She fell at least six feet from the ground, NDTV said in a report.
A large number of locals including women watched the ongoing dispute between the two parties. As the girl fell near them from above, most of them watched in silence instead of helping her up, the shocking video showed. After several seconds, a man in black came forward to help the crying girl up.
After the video surfaced online, a case against the accused builder at the Aman Vihar police station, NDTV said in a report. Multiple police teams are on the hunt for the man who is on the run, it added.
