PM Modi holds meeting with Yogi Adityanath, others in Delhi amid rift speculations in UP BJP

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held a crucial meeting with chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of BJP-ruled states over a wide range of regional and other issues at the BJP headquarters in Delhi. 

BJP top leaders, including party president J.P. Nadda, and Home Minister Amit Shah attended the meeting. The agenda included an analysis of the Lok Sabha Election 2024, formulating strategies for upcoming assembly elections and implementation of central and state schemes in the respective states.  

The meeting included two sessions. 

The CMs were expected to present their states' best schemes. The meeting also aimed to foster greater central-state party coordination and strengthening the overall party strategy. 

The meeting is considered very crucial for Uttar Pradesh, after the BJP's poor performance in the state and not being able to achieve the desired goal. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's meeting with PM Modi comes amid rift speculations within the party in the state

Along with Adityanath, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis took part in the meeting. 

The meeting was held at the backdrop of the NITI Aayog's 9th Governing Council meeting held in Delhi. While speaking at the concluding session, Modi said, “Viksit Bharat @ 2047 is ambition of every Indian. States can play an active role to achieve this aim as they are directly connected with the people.” 

Reforms like NEP, schemes like Mudra, PM Vishwakarma, PM Svanidhi, reforms in the criminal justice system etc. should be utilised for bringing about transformational change in Indian society and economy, he said. 

"We are moving in the right direction. We have defeated once in a hundred years pandemic. Our people are full of enthusiasm and confidence. We can fulfil our dreams of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 with the combined effort of all States. Viksit States will make Viksit Bharat,” said PM Modi.
