The arrest in the fatal flooding at Delhi IAS coaching centre went up by seven on Monday. Delhi Police arrested five people including building owners.

A motorist whose Force Gurkha sent a huge wave of water into the institute's gate, allegedly resulting in damage, was also arrested. Other people arrested were four relatives of Amarjeet, the building owner, who was arrested on Sunday. The coordinator of Rau's IAS Study Circle was also under custody a day ago.

The authorities have found that the building lacked a proper drainage system, which led to the flooding.

The civic authorities on Monday started bulldozing the illegal structures in the area, including removal of encroachment that blocks drains and leads to waterlogging.

However, students protesting the deaths of three IAS aspirants slammed the municipal authorities, saying the action was too late. One of the protesters said, "All this is for show".

The MCD has sealed 13 IAS coaching centres in the area, including Guidance IAS, Easy for IAS, Topper's Academy, Dainik Samvad, IAS Gurukul, Chahal Academy, Plutus Academy, Sai Trading, IAS Setu, Civils Daily IAS, Career Power, 99 Notes and Vidya Guru.
