Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena met with students protesting in the national capital demanding action against those responsible for IAS aspirants’ deaths. Saxena assured the protesters that stern action would be taken in the case.

Saxena met the students protesting in Old Rajinder Nagar, outside the civil services coaching centre where three IAS aspirants died in the basement after it got flooded with rainwater on Saturday. The governor met the students and heard their concerns. He assured the aspirants that action will be taken.

The civic authorities on Monday started bulldozing the illegal structures in the area, including the removal of encroachment that blocks drains and leads to waterlogging.

The MCD has sealed 13 IAS coaching centres in the area, including Guidance IAS, Easy for IAS, Topper's Academy, Dainik Samvad, IAS Gurukul, Chahal Academy, Plutus Academy, Sai Trading, IAS Setu, Civils Daily IAS, Career Power, 99 Notes and Vidya Guru.

Three students died after the basement of an IAS coaching centre in Delhi's Old Rajindra Nagar got flooded on Saturday evening. The bodies of the students were retrieved from the site during the rescue operation. The bodies of two female students were retrieved from the site initially by the NDRF, local police and fire department. A third body was recovered later. Police said the deceased were from Kerala, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.

The deceased were identified as Shreya Yadav, a native of Ambedkar Nagar district of UP, Tanya Soni, whose permanent address is in Telangana and Nivin Dalwin, a resident of Kerala's Ernakulam.

The Delhi LG came down heavily on Sunday against the AAP government and said the incident was indicative of the larger malaise of misgovernance that Delhi has been subjected to during the last decade or so.
