The deputy chief of the Thane unit of the Shiv Sena (UBT) died of a heart attack on Sunday after a verbal altercation with an auto-rickshaw driver in Vasai of Maharashtra's Palghar district, reports said. The late leader was identified as 45-year-old Milind More, son of Raghunath More, who was the Thane district unit chief of the undivided Shiv Sena.

According to reports, Milind was at a resort in Navapur with his family when the incident occurred late Sunday evening. An argument broke out between him and an unidentified auto driver while the former was leaving the resort premises. Milind suddenly collapsed and was rushed to a hospital, Deputy Commissioner of Police told news agency PTI.

However, the doctors at the medical facility he was taken to declared him dead on arrival, the reports said. Later, the auto driver was booked under section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita based on a complaint filed by More's family.

Following the incident, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed the civic authorities to demolish unauthorised resorts near Arnala beach, a release from the CMO said.
