Using the ‘Chkravyuh’ formation from the Mahabharata as a leit motif, Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi said six persons, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, industrialists Ambani and Adani have trapped India in a ‘Chakravyuh’. Rahul Gandhi lashed out at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and said the ‘Chakravyuh’ they have built is harming people.
Addressing the Lok Sabha during the discussion on the union budget, referring to Chakravyuh formation during the Kurukshetra war, Gandhi said, “I did a little research and found out that 'Chakravyuh' is also known as 'Padmavuyh' - which means 'Lotus formation'. 'Chakravyuh' is in the shape of a Lotus. In the 21st century, a new 'Chakravyuh' has been formed - that too in the form of a Lotus. The prime minister wears its symbol on his chest. What was done with Abhimanyu, is being down with India - the youth, farmers, women, small and medium businesses,” he said.
Gandhi said six persons control the formation and it happens today too. “There are six people in the centre of 'Chakravyuh' and they control today too – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, NSA Ajit Doval and industrialists Ambani and Adani," he said. However, when Speaker Om Birla intervened, Gandhi said he would omit the names of NSA, Ambani and Adani if he wanted.
The Congress leader said he thought the budget would weaken the Chakravyuh but the “sole aim of this budget is to strengthen this framework”. “We expected that it would help farmers, labourers and small and medium businesses. But the sole aim of the business is to strengthen the framework of monopoly business, political monopoly and the deep state or the agencies," he said.
The opposition leader said the INDIA bloc will break down this formation. “We are going to break down this 'Chakravyuh'. The biggest way of doing this is one that scares you, it is the caste census. As I said, the INDIA alliance will pass guaranteed legal MSP in this House, similarly, we will pass caste census in this House, whether you like it or not."
