Calling the various schemes announced in the union budget a “sham”, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said the Centre is yet to provide details for its employment-linked incentive schemes.

Kharge said a week into the 'Kursi Bachao Budget', the industry is awaiting details regarding the industry-linked incentive schemes. Calling it “tokenism”, Kharge said in a post on X, “Crores of youth want a permanent solution to their plight of Jobs, but @narendramodiji's government bitterly deceives them by not even giving a temporary solution!”

Kharge said the academia and industry are yet to know the details of the scheme. The Congress leader charged the idea, half-copied from Congress’s manifesto does not provide any long-term solution to address unemployment in the country. Kharge asked did the government consult with stakeholders before announcing the scheme.

Comparing it with the 'Right to Apprenticeship' programme announced in Congress’s manifesto, Kharge said the opposition’s scheme was a “structured system of training where individuals, known as apprentices, learn a trade or profession through a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction”.

Kharge also asked why aren’t public sector firms are not part of the programme. “Is it because the BJP wants NO recruitment of SC, ST, OBC and EWS youth in the Public Sector – through reservation?”, he asked.
