The Jammu and Kashmir administration sacked six government officials including five policemen for alleged links with narco-terror network operating from Pakistan.

J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha terminated the service of these officials by invoking Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution. Under proviso 'c' of the Article, the president or the governor, as the case may be, is empowered to terminate an employee without recourse to the normal procedure if satisfied that the person's retention in public service is prejudicial to the security of the State.

Officials in the know of the probe said the six officials were sacked after an investigation revealed they were part of “narco-terror network run by Pakistan spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and terror groups operating from its soil”, PTI reported. "Six government officials, including five policemen and a teacher, were found involved in terror financing through drug sales," an official told PTI.

Since the abrogation of Article 370, 70 government employees have been terminated from service for their alleged narco-terror links.
