Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, like him, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal would also be released from prison soon. Sisodia was released from Tihar jail on Friday after the Supreme Court granted him bail in the liquor policy case.

Addressing presspersons after offering prayers at Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place on Saturday, Sisodia said, “Lord Bajrang Bali has blessed me. Arvind Kejriwal also has blessings of Lord Bajrang Bali and you will see that Kejriwal ji will also be blessed in the same way,” ANI reported. AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bharadwaj accompanied him during the visit.

The Supreme Court granted bail to Sisodia on Friday, in cases registered against him by the Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam. The Court observed Sisodia was deprived of the right to speedy trial in the case hence the bail. Sisodia was imprisoned for 17 months in connection with the probe.

Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 last year over irregularities in the Delhi excise policy. The Enforcement Directorate ED arrested him in the money laundering case stemming from the CBI FIR on March 9 last year. He resigned from the Delhi cabinet on February 28, 2023.

Sisodia also visited Rajghat and paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.

After getting released from prison, Sisodia told presspersons that he thanks the Supreme Court for using the power of the Constitution "to give a tight slap to the dictatorship in the country”. Sisodia also expressed confidence that the same power of the Constitution will soon release Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Besides Sisodia, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and BRS leader K. Kavitha are facing charges in the case.
