Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole claimed on Wednesday that the Eknath Shinde-led Mahayuti government has mortgaged the state to Gujarat.

Patole said Maharashtra's first Chief Minister Yashwantrao Chavan, along with the relentless efforts of the subsequent CMs, shaped and enriched the state.

The Congress party's stance is to ensure justice for the farmers, the youth, the poor, and people of all castes and religions in Maharashtra, he added.

“We will face the Legislative Assembly elections unitedly as Mahavikas Aghadi. After the elections, we will decide on the Chief Minister by consensus," said the state Congress chief, asserting that the Congress party's priority is to protect the pride and save Maharashtra.

While speaking to the media in Nagpur, Patole alleged that the Mahayuti government has put Maharashtra, including Mumbai, up for sale.

“Prime plots are being given to Adani at throwaway prices. Not just Maharashtra, but the entire country is being auctioned off. The BJP government has even handed over Delhi's Red Fort to their cronies. Not just Shaniwarwada and the Aga Khan Palace, but the entire Maharashtra is being auctioned by this corrupt government, and the looting of Maharashtra has begun,” he alleged.

While discussing the Hindenburg Research allegations against the Sebi Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch, Patole said that in recent years, a significant number of middle-class people have been investing in the stock market, but even their money is not secure.

“It appears that the SEBI chairman, Adani, and the Prime Minister are all in a nexus,” alleged the Congress leader. “This corrupt system had been created by the central government, which is why Rahul Gandhi questioned whose Rs 20,000 crores were invested in Adani's companies. A question Narendra Modi could not answer.”

“The Supreme Court also questioned the SEBI chief, asking, 'Were you asleep?' This suggests that the Sebi chief is involved, indicating that the roots of this corruption seem to revolve around PM Modi,” he claimed.
