Shiv Sena (Shinde) Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora on Saturday said that Congress will never make Uddhav Thackeray the chief minister candidate of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). He said he knew how Congress functions and it wouldn't make Thackeray the face of the MVA alliance.
Milind Deora informed that Maharashtra has crossed the half trillion dollar economy mark. It’s a leader in industrial growth and investments and has received Rs 1 lakh crore investment from the central government over the past four months.
He was addressing a press conference held at Balasaheb Bhavan, where he also responded to the opposition's recent criticisms.
"Mumbai MMR is now home to the world's largest metro network, thanks to the central government's commitment. A ₹15,000 crore fund has been allocated for metro projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) in the union cabinet meeting held yesterday,” said Milind Deora. This substantial investment is set to transform the region's infrastructure and ease the daily commute for millions of residents, he added.
“In addition to the metro projects, Maharashtra has received investments in various sectors, including port expansion, further solidifying its position as an industrial powerhouse,” Milind Deora said.
The MP emphasised that the expansion of metro lines in Mumbai and Pune will be a "game changer" for these cities, bringing about significant improvements in public transportation.
"Some opposed the metro projects when they were in power, but now, both the central and state governments are working together to alleviate the challenges faced by MMR residents. With 14 new metro lines set to come into operation, the future of urban transport in Maharashtra looks brighter than ever," he said.
