In a heart-stopping moment of heroism, a 56-year-old woman's life was saved by the swift actions of traffic police and a taxi driver, who rushed to her aid just as she was about to fall into the Arabian Sea from the Atal Setu bridge in Mumbai. Thanks to their timely intervention, the woman was pulled to safety, averting a tragedy. 

The visuals of the dramatic rescue of the woman have been widely shared on social media. 

The incident took place around 7 pm on Friday on the bridge that connects south Mumbai to Navi Mumbai. Mulund resident Reema Mukesh Patel had reached the bridge in a taxi. The vehicle was stopped on the Nhava Sheva side. 

According to the official, who witnessed the incident, the woman walked to the side of the crash barrier and sat on the railing. In the video, the taxi driver can also be seen standing close to the railing with her. Just then a police patrolling vehicle pulls over in front of the car. 

Seeing the police vehicle, the woman loses her balance and falls. Immediately, the taxi driver can be seen grabbing the woman by her hair, soon the cops rush towards the woman and help her climb onto the railing. 

One of the cops bent down and held her just in time, managing to save her, the official said. 

The four cops then slowly pulled the woman up to safety, he said. 

Later the woman said that he lost her balance in panic after seeing the cops.
