Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren dismissed rumours about him going to join the Bharatiya Janata Party and said he is visiting the national capital for personal work. Soren is reportedly being accompanied by six Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLAs.

Soon after landing in Delhi, Soren told reporters that he hasn't met any BJP leader and he was in the national capital on a "personal" visit, PTI reported. The JMM leader denied meeting with BJP leader and West Bengal Opposition leader  Suvendu Adhikari in Kolkata. “I have not met anyone,” he said.

Some media reports speculated that Champai Soren could join the BJP ahead of Jharkhand assembly polls. Reportedly, Champai Soren was unhappy with the manner in which he had to step down from the CM post after JMM leader Hemant Soren’s bail in a money laundering case. Champai was made CM when the Enforcement Directorate arrested then CM Hemant Soren in a money laundering case in January.

Meanwhile, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also the BJP’s co-incharge for Jharkhand assembly polls denied the rumours and Champai Soren is neither in touch with him nor the party.
