Amid reports that the psychoanalytic profiling of the accused in the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata found him to have an "animal-like instinct", CCTV footage showed that he was stalking the victim hours before the heinous crime.

According to media reports, the footage showed Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer, staring at the victim and four other doctors. "The CCTV footage captures Roy glaring towards them,” News18 quoted a source as saying.

Police had earlier said Sanjay Roy confessed to observing the victim at the chest medicine ward hours before the crime. Now, it appears that the CCTV evidence corroborated his claim.
