Sleuths probing the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital have released a CCTV footage showing key accused Sanjoy Roy entering the premises wearing a bluetooth headphone. Parts of the headphones recovered from the crime scene is a major evidence in the probe.
In the video, Sanjoy Roy is reportedly seen entering the RG Kar Hospital premises wearing bluetooth headphones at about 1.03am. Roy, the key accused in the case reportedly admitted to the crime after police showed him the footage. Parts of headphones recovered from the crime scene led to Sanjoy Roy’s arrest.
Another footage released earlier showed Sanjay Roy staring at the victim and four other doctors. "The CCTV footage captures Roy glaring towards them,” News18 quoted a source as saying.
Meanwhile, polygraph test have begun on Roy and six other persons in connection with the case. According to the Central Bureau of Investigation probing the case, the lie detection test for Roy will be conducted in prison and it will be conducted at the agency’s office for others, including for former college principal Sandip Ghosh. A special court on Friday granted permission to conduct the test on Roy.
Besides Ghosh, four junior doctors who were on duty on the night of the crime and a civil volunteer will undergo the test at the CBI office, PTI reported. Polygraph specialists from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Delhi will be conducting the test.
The body of a postgraduate trainee doctor, who was allegedly raped and murdered, was found in the seminar room of the hospital on August 9, triggering protests across the nation. The trainee doctor's body with severe injury marks was found inside the seminar hall of the hospital's chest department.
