A day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Prasun Chatterjee, a data entry operator at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in connection with the financial irregularities in the institutions, questions surface as to why Chatterjee was present at the crime scene on the day the trainee doctor's body was found.
A viral video doing rounds shows Chatterjee, who is said to have a close bond with Ghosh, at the seminar hall where the trainee doctor was found raped and murdered. Now, the investigation will focus on how Chatterjee managed to get near the crime scene despite being a data entry operator. Interestingly, Chatterjee no longer works at R G Kar and is listed as an employee of Calcutta National Medical College.
He is said to sign the attendance registers at his official place of work but spent his days with Ghosh's office in RG Kar. He reportedly did the same on August 9, the day the doctor was found dead.

Chatterjee is said to have close links with Ghosh and those in the power circle were aware of how a data entry operator operated in the hospital with so much influence. A few days ago, a photograph of Chatterjee celebrating his birthday with Ghosh nearby had gone viral. He is also said to have introduced himself to others as Sandeep Ghosh's personal assistant.

The focus has also shifted to Chatterjee's source of income. As per local media reports, he is said to own a three-storey house in Subhashgram, South 24 Parganas. The ED had raided the premises on Thursday before arresting him. Local media reports suggest that residents in the area claim Chatterjee's properties and financial situation increased vastly off late.
Meanwhile, the ED has uncovered that Sandip Ghosh owned multiple properties, including owned a farmhouse in Canning Town and another flat. This is besides the four-storey house in Beleghat where he resides. He is also said to own new vehicles, including a SUV.
It is unclear whether the records of the property were in his name. However, local people claim they have seen the former principal frequenting the place. His wife and in-laws were also seen visiting the spot.
