BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted the National Conference-Congress alliance will never be able form government in Kashmir. Shah said the upcoming assembly election in the valley is historic as it is first under the national flag and the Constitution after the abrogation of Article 370 by the Modi regime.
Addressing party workers while campaigning for upcoming J&K assembly polls, Shah said, “I have been a student of election statistics from a very young age and I am telling you this that the government of Congress and Farooq Abdullah can never be formed in Jammu and Kashmir,” ANI reported. Shah charged the opposition wants to destabilise Kashmir and they wish to release separatists and terrorist sympathisers.

“The NDA government will not allow the revival of terrorism, ‘autonomy’, and injustice with any community including Gujjars, Pahari, Bakerwals and Dalits who were granted reservation by the BJP dispensation,” Shah said. The union minister said the Centre will not engage in talks with Pakistan until there is peace in Kashmir.
Talking about the historic significance of upcoming assembly polls, Shah said, "The coming elections in J&K are historic because, after Independence, the polls are happening the first time under our national flag and Constitution, unlike in the past practice of two flags and two constitutions. We have only one prime minister from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and he is Modi,” PTI reported.
Shah claimed the BJP-led regime in Centre has brought down incidents of terrorism in the valley by 70 per cent in the past 10 years. The home minister, who presented the historic Bill in Parliament to abrogate Article 370 and bifurcate J&K and Ladakh into Union Territories, said, statehood will be restored at an appropriate time after elections. “Rahul Gandhi should stop misleading the public. Only the Centre can grant statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and it will be restored at an appropriate after the election,” he said.
Shah arrived in Jammu on a two-day visit on Friday and released the BJP’s manifesto – Sankalp Patra. The Sankalp Patra outlines 25 promises, focusing on agriculture, employment, social welfare, and infrastructure. Key pledges include ₹10,000 financial assistance for farmers under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and a 50 per cent cut in electricity rates for agricultural activities.
The manifesto also includes plans to restore and renovate Hindu temples and promises to transform J&K from a "terrorist hotspot" into a top tourist destination. Rehabilitation efforts for displaced people will be accelerated.
