West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose said he will not share any public platform with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in view of the stalemate over the junior doctors’ protest demanding justice to the RG Kar rape-murder victim.
"I will socially boycott the Chief minister. Socially means I will never share any stage with the Chief Minister. I will not attend any meeting where the Chief Minister is present," the Governor said in a video message.

"I stand committed to the people of Bengal. I reiterated my commitment to the parents of the victim of RG Kar and also to those who are demonstrating for justice. In my assessment, the government has failed in its duties," he added.
Bose said the state government has failed in its duties and this was due to the “dilemma that the health minister is the home minister and the home minister is the chief minister”.
His statement comes hours after the protesting doctors refused to meet the chief minister at the state secretariat after their demand for love-streaming the talks was rejected.
Dramatic events unfolded at Nabanna after the protesting doctors’ delegation stayed put at the gate even as top officials, including DGP Rajeev Kumar, ADG (South Bengal) Supratim Sarkar and even state chief secretary Manoj Pant, tried to convince them.
The chief minister, who waited for more than an hour at the secretariat to meet the protesters, later addressed the media, saying she was ready to resign for the larger interest of the people.
"I am ready to resign for the sake of the people as, despite my best intentions and efforts in the last three days, the medics declined to hold talks," she said.
Junior doctors have been protesting across West Bengal after a trainee doctor was raped and murdered while on duty at Kolkata’s RG Kar medical college hosipital. The victim’s body was found at the seminar hall of the hospital on August 9.
One person has been arrested in the case even as protesters allege involvement of several others in the incident. The CBI has taken over the probe following a directive of the Calcutta High Court.
