The new calf, with a symbol of light on its forehead, has been named 'Deepjyoti'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X to celebrate the arrival of a new member at his official residence 7, Kalyan Marg. The new member is none other than a new calf, named 'Deepjyothi'.

Sharing the video of the adorable calf on his official handle, the Prime Minister said: "It is said in our scriptures - 'Gaav: Sarvasukha Prada'. There has been an auspicious arrival of a new member in the Prime Minister's residence on Lok Kalyan Marg. The beloved mother cow has given birth to a new calf, which has a symbol of light on its forehead. Hence, I have named it ‘Deepjyoti’.

The Prime Minister has earlier too posted images of cows at his residence, calling for their protection and preservation. He stated that cows have been a significant part’ of Indian culture and tradition.

However, then the breed of cows at the Prime Minister's residence garnered interest. The photos released by the Prime Minister showed him offering fodder to a group of about six cattle of the Punganur breed. This breed of livestock is from Andhra Pradesh and is known as the world's smallest breed of humped cattle.

With an average height of 70-90 cm, the Punganur breed's milk has a high fat content of 8 percent while the cow milk normally has a fat content of 3 to 3.5 per cent.
